A little about me
Wisdom begins in wonder
I have worked with adults, families and children for 15 years in the areas of neglect, abuse and trauma. I have particular specialisms in working with those who have been fostered and adopted.
I love to help people make sense of their history with compassion and kindness, and to find a new way forward.
My core belief is this - difficult experiences do not have to have the last word.
There is hope.
'The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.'
About Internal Family Systems
At the heart of IFS is the belief that we have a core Self that is compassionate, clear thinking and creative. We also have a 'family' of parts that help and protect us in life. When we experience trauma or difficult experiences these parts become extreme in the way they try to help, and this is when we feel the discomfort and distress of their extreme ways of trying to help.
IFS therapy enables you to access your core Self in order for your parts to let go of their extreme roles and bring more peace and harmony to your system.
